Serendipity

No school today

Five inches of snow

How fortunate

I need to leave shortly,
for the damn EEG

Now she's gone to clear out Cathy's car and drive.

  1. Wow! Joanne, that's a lot of snow. I really would suggest you not drive in that... but I guess you're used to it?

    1. It's OK. Less than we often have, and I know road crews were out all night clearing roads. And, I'll go the freeway this time, not through the valley.

  8. With each of your posts I am more impressed by Laura. She is such a hard worker. And she does it cheerfully. How lucky are you?

    1. We call it unremitting cheerfulness. All four of them. They get it from their dad. I only know something's wrong if she quits talking.

  9. Wow! It's so beautiful, despite all the problems it causes.

  10. A little snow here but mostly ice and definitely not driving weather. Snow can be better handled especially by someone with a mindset like yours. Fear does not seem part of your vocabulary.

  11. Seems most of the snow here is being concentrated in this one week. Good to have good help.

  13. Hope your EEG goes well. Lucky to have Laura home to shovel, but then again, if there was no snow, there would be no need of a shoveller!

  14. Half an inch is enough to bring Britain to a standstill. I envy you.

    1. We still have the same deal; ten dollars for the two drives and cars. So, I opened my wallet recently to give her her fifty dollars a month February allowance. I only had 43. "That's OK, gramma. I have all that money from shoveling snow." We'll hit the bank in the box when we get groceries this weekend.

  17. Laura is a credit to you Joanne, bending, shovelling and lifting the snow looks like back breaking work. Is the snow heavy as well? It looks light and fluffy, but I imagine it weighs as much as ice when it sets hard like that.

    1. No, it was wet and heavy. Snowman worthy, but no incentive left.

  20. I think everyone else has said it before me. How lucky you are - to have fabulously kind and thoughtful grandchildren (yes!!) - to have all that snow (no, boo hiss)

  22. It was a snow day here: buses cancelled for the 8th time but schools open as per usual.

(I just had to re-sign into Google for the first time in a long while.)

  23. My sister lives in Columbus and sent me an email about cursed snow. Looks about right.
