Pleased to report

I believe I'm feeling better. I certainly hope so. Headaches are gone so the blood pressure must be down. My back still hurts--from sneezing. Something in either the bedroom or the bathroom, or both, is setting off occasional fits of sneezing. Haven't located it yet.

Good news: I finally have a set of towels finished and up on the web page. The web site has changed since I last used it. "Improved"! Only when I figure it out. I've been warned for weeks it would happen, but I felt too awful to keep up with the news. The towel listed is blue, and the next set I will weave is grass green.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, interested residents were taken on a tour of the apartments available in the new wing. They are considerably larger than anything here in the older part, and considerably more expensive. I have no envy whatsoever. My world fits comfortably in my little studio.

I am going for Thanksgiving to my sister's home, and a grandchild will take me and deliver me home. Sounds like a mighty fine time. Reminds me of all those years I would ferry my Grandma Rolf to and from family events.

That's it for now. Time for dinner. I'm not up to current events tonight. We've been here before and will come through again. We're down to local governments to provide the agency. School boards, libraries, food banks. Above all, do the right thing.

Do I recall that you have a humidifier or some sort of air system? Could be that needs a clean...that could trigger sneezing.

Enjoy your outing..it is nice to have someone else to do the driving!!

  6. Glad you are better, age is a 'lesser of two evils' I guess.
Yeah, people gotta persevere. Here on the left coast we live in a bubble of sorts, we'll see how much it protects us from the onslaught of trumpian edicts coming down the pike.
    Take care.

  9. Good to hear the headache is gone, I find there is not much that's worse than a headache for keeping me down in the dumps. Thankfully they are rare since I quit working.
If I had the chance to move to a bigger place I'd be there in a hearbeat!

  16. Dear Joanne, so good that you feel a bit better!
"My world fits comfortably in my little studio." - I love that sentence (contemplating if I give up my Berlin apartment and "condense it" into the one in Bavaria...)
The blue of your weaving is heavenly!

Good to see a post from you dear friend! Your wee 'studio' is like my van equivalent - all you need and nothing that can't be accessed when required outside of it! Stay warm - we are hitting our first proper winter this week... YAM xx

  19. Yes, we can do the right thing, right where we are! After all, that's where we live--in the everyday. Support your library, share your art.
    Drive someone to Thanskgiving. Or...
Be a guest who is driven to Thanksgiving!
    You do good.
Glad you feel good too (or, better anyway).

Isn't it wonderful to be completely content with what you have? I think that is the secret to happiness if indeed there is one.

  26. I find that my sneezing fits are because either my shoulders or knees are cold. Isn't that strange?

  28. The Thanksgiving plans sound delightful too! It’ll be a nice chance to spend time with family, and I’m sure your grandchild will enjoy the time together as well. It’s wonderful that you have such warm memories of taking your Grandma to family events—it’s full-circle love, isn’t it?

As for current events, I understand the desire to take a break from it all. Your thoughts on local governments and community support are wise. It’s encouraging to remember that doing the right thing on a local level can make a difference, even when things feel overwhelming.

I hope dinner is delicious and that you continue to feel better as time goes on!

  30. I love my red towel! Some nasty bug has been tearing through our circle too. It's taking it's time clearing off. Good to hear you are feeling better in time for the holidays. Canadian Thanksgiving is in October. We didn't celebrate as the flu was starting to kick us all.
