Creative activities

I mentioned the toilet seat riser that my old seat did not fit. Well, the bolts did not fit. After school we went to Ace. and bought a new seat, which Laura set about installing. Shortly I heard her leave the house. The new seat needed modified. I wonder if the old seat was modifiable?

Toby supervises, sporting this inimitable pose, The Hang.

Installation! Perfect job. Comfortable seat, finally.

And look at that! A self closing lid, just like the seat relegated to the shed because we didn't want to modify it.

For tomorrow, postcards to write to voters. We only have fifty and probably will need more. Also, there is a clay exhibition at the local community college. I'd like to take it in.

  1. Oh Joanne. The inimitable Joanne. I have those seat lids too and you'll have to watch out when you use other ones. I let a giant toilet seat at the hospital just fall down with a loud crash that could be heard down the hall, thinking it would close on its own. That Laura is going to be able to do anything.

  2. And clearly that DIY turned out right because of Toby's supervision :) Laura is becoming proficient at so many things.

I have the opposite problem to donna baker with the self-closing lids - we have one, in a bathroom rarely used, but when I do use it I always force it downward before I realize why it seems to be jammed.

Hope you get to go to the clay exhibition. Sounds good.

  5. Ugh, there's nothing worse than an uncomfortable toilet seat. Except maybe a broken toilet seat that pinches your bum.

  9. Now that does look comfortable. I have a lid like that in the downstairs bath. You are sounding like you again. Falls and disasters only have slowed you down, and now your humor is bouncing back. Thank you for your encouraging notes.

Maybe it would, maybe it wouldn't - fit, that is. Meanwhile, this one does and a fine job done too. Thank goodness the 'gaffer' was on the watch out!!! You are surely getting right back on seat, Joanne, if I may be permitted to say so!!! YAM xx

  15. Laura seems to be a Jack-of-all-trades, a real handy man type. That's a good thing of course. Gone are the days when women were supposed to be helpless and needing a man around to fix every little thing.
I hope your vote cards get plenty of people to the voting booths.
