A post to end the flood

I learned something. Blogger populates the reading list with the latest blog posted. I've done some housekeeping to my old blog posts and they are "re-posted" as of today. With apologies for clogging up dear old Blogger, I am done and it should be gone tomorrow.

  1. I figured you were working on your blog when I saw posts dated ten years ago, and then deleted! No problem.

  2. Do you know if they will all be taken off of my mail. There sure is a lot of them

  3. I haven't seen that yet on my blogreader. Hmmm.

  4. When I saw them I thought I’d‘click through’ and read some - only blogger tells me they don’t exist.
I wondered if you had deleted them - if you look at Blog archives on your sidebar it only shows 1 post for 2012, 2013, 2020, then 2022.

  5. I was wondering where it all went.

  7. Yeah, it happens when bloggers are doing housekeeping! I figured that's what was going on, LOL!

... that is wierd - deletion ought not to create a post command - but at least now we know that you were active on your own blog and not something more nefarious! Funny thing is, I have been wondering about tidying up my own files - so thanks for the warning! YAM xx

  9. Thank you Joanne. I stopped following you for 12 hours to try and stem the flow. It seemed to work and now I am back.

    1. I spoke too soon. I'm off again. Back when your old posts have been overwhelmed by new ones.

  10. Good to see a new post!
Although some of the old ones looked as if they might have been interesting!! I wonder if you can archive them and not lose them?

  11. Well, I guess I was wrong. I thought it was a blogger system glitch... or maybe it still is. So, if I delete old posts, this is what happens? What if I go into manage files and delete old blogs that no longer post? Anyone know?

  12. What I need to do housekeeping on my blog's old posts? I really dislike housekeeping. Does Blogger offer a type of roomba to clean old posts??

  13. The changed posts did not show up on my non-Blogger reader.

  14. Dear Joanne, best way I could think of to continue visiting your blog was to withdraw connection to GFC follower list and copy your blog URL, https://cuponthebus.blogspot.com/2022/02/a-post-to-end-flood.html#comment-form, to my upper navigation bar. Will check for new "Cup on the Bus" posts regularly. Best wishes getting my face back into your GFC gallery. Now, let's see if google permits my comment,

  15. Yes, I had about 1200 out there. I had no idea this would happen. And I don't know what I could do differently. They were "reposted" as drafts on the day I did it, which is over the last two days. Blogger thought they were new posts and threw them all at you. I can say for sure, it won't happen again.

  16. I've tried unfollowing twice, but they're all there, overwhelming other blogs. I think I'll unfollow you again, nothing personal, so as to find other blogs I'm following. But I'll be back!

  17. Nothing different happened here. I just see your latest post as always.

  18. No problem. Made all the appointments, but haven't been to any yet.

  19. I didn't see anything either.
