I stopped at River Light Gallery Friday,
to deliver lime green shirts,
and realized how much it makes me smile.
I see an underlying steam punkiness.
I think Diane, the owner, was trending to industrial, without punk.
It's her gallery, and makes no difference,
as long as there are customers.

There is so much light it's not easy to take pictures.
But good light makes a good gallery.
I have a new warp going on my loom this weekend.
I probably won't be back before I have more shirts done.
those are a beautiful green, not sure they are quite lime on my monitor, but a delicious color none the less

Joanne, I remembered a song by Laura Nyro called Emily and a verse in the song goes something like this, "and I swear you were born a weaver's lover, born for the loom's desire..." Such a beautiful song. You need to listen to it on iTunes. Love the green.

ReplyDeleteI saw a short documentary a few nights ago that made me think of you. I don't know if you have heard of Brown Sheep Company in Mitchell, Nebraska. They make yarn from their own sheep. I have no idea what their prices are like but you might like to look them up on the internet.

ReplyDeleteI would love a good visit there! looks like a good place to hunt for treasures. One day, when we sell this place and begin our lives as nomads we will travel in our motorhome and linger in places as long as we want! One day ....

ReplyDeleteLots of interesting things to see there. I spent quite awhile on each photo after clicking on them to make them bigger - it was almost as good as being there! I really like the lamp with, as you say, the steampunk vibe.
