I transport kids
Hamilton to church
Emily to work
Bring Hamilton home at noon
Bring Emily home at five
Today I saw all the red
Red was mom's favorite color,
"No matter what color it is."
I stopped in driveways,
I stopped in the park
I stopped along the river. Up river
Downriver. Not red.
If I had to guess, the blackbirds
Have spotted maple seedlings for lunch.
And, I love red doors
But this is it, unless I am brave enough to park in a stranger's driveway
And ask permission to take a picture of their red doors.
Love your RED photos! We're down here in Athens (still) and see a lot of those red bushes... brilliant red!... have no idea what they are. By the way... do you have a favorite sock pattern? I use Ravelry and have Hermione Sock pattern downloaded... but have a feeling I'll be making more than 1 pair and get bored doing the same. Yarn is still on order... in fact, I'm thinking this is a Costa Rica project (Dec-Mar).... that way, no one will outgrow something before I get it done ;-)
ReplyDeleteMy sock pattern came from a 1936ish Minerva book. Standard 68 co, and the usual half for bottom, half for top. I will scan it and email.
DeleteI had a 2 large red maples in the front yard of my old house. They were beautiful this time of the year.

ReplyDeleteLove all the reds; lots in your neck of the wood. Such a vibrant color too! You are a good grandmother for driving your grands to their activities whether it be work, church, etc. I know it can be tiring to spend time behind the wheel in such ventures.

Wow. So pretty! Here on the prairie, it is a quieter riot of color. A few reds, yes...but mostly goldenrod and dark orange. Your photos are eye popping.
ReplyDeleteGreat collection of reds. I'm jealous of your colorful fall. We get golds and oranges if we're lucky. If not we get tan and brown. This year was mostly the latter.
