Removed to a secure location

"Where Are the Pumpkins?!"

I asked the road super this morning.

"Removed to a secure location," he replied with a grin,

as he tested the mower arm, then left to attend to township ditches.

I walked the vine

Only the littlest fellow, not even previously mentioned, remains.

With four weeks to seriously catch up.

  3. This post sure brought a big grin to my face! Looks like not only you (and half the blogging world) are rootin' for those pumpkins to make it to Halloween! I love it when folks we don't even think care really do care about those little things in life.

  4. Next year you have to grow giant pumpkins so no one will be able to pick one up and carry away. In the meantime, having a pumpkin guard is pretty nice. Does he watch over zucchini also?

  11. I hope that pumpkin does grow a lot in the next month! Maybe with the other ones gone he'll be able to get all the sun and nutrients he needs? I too would wonder where the others were securely being kept.

    1. Ah, Kay. You missed the previous installments, where the pumpkins grew large and lovely. Then one was liberated by a person known to both the road super and myself, to take to a grandchild. The super planned on making jack-o-lanterns to amuse hundreds of children. The last two now are in the Pumpkin Protection program.

  19. Eating pumpkins and halloween pumpkins are two different species..A Halloween pumpkin does not make good soup or pie..
