I realized, as I pushed the appropriate button in the bank
of door uppers and downers, I’ve never taken a picture of the sunflower with
our town hall as a backdrop. It is a
wonderful building, wonderfully conserved.
Sunny was a little chewed up today. Someone’s buffet. I expect next week there will just be a hole in the pavement.
I looked under at the flower, and found a fat grasshopper. He probably has not read Aesop’s Fables.
And on the sidewalk into the office, a dragon fly. He was hard to snap. When I moved, he moved. So, we danced a little on the sidewalk in the
sun before I went into work.
Sunny has done her job and done it well.
ReplyDeletedancing with dragon flies - good way to start the day
ReplyDeleteOh, that is a really cool dragonfly photo! i would love to have taken it.
ReplyDeleteDancing on the sidewalk, I can just picture you and the dragonfly with Sunny as an audience.
ReplyDeletePeople can see you from the windows, you know!!

I love that you follow the story through to the end. Thanks you for sharing the tale of Sunny!
ReplyDeleteThat was one fat grasshopper. Wish we could have seen the dragonfly dance. 8D
ReplyDeleteSunny beat the odds and even grasshoppers need to eat.
ReplyDeleteNot many sunflowers can say they had as many pictures of them put on the internet as Sunny has!! Sunny, you're a star :)
ReplyDeleteTHat sunflower has led an amazing life! :)
ReplyDeleteWonderful, wonderful shot of the dragonfly. The murdering grasshopper - and it is amazing how much one hopper can eat did indeed look quite plump.
ReplyDeleteWill Sunny II be out next year? Lovely dragonfly.
ReplyDeleteThat IS a wonderful looking building.
ReplyDeleteOh, poor Sunny, being devoured like that. It'll be sad to see that hole in the sidewalk.
Interesting finds you've got :D
ReplyDeleteI read somewhere that a sunflower's life only lasts for a month... and the seed falls down on the ground to produce new seedlings.
sorry to see sunny go--wonderful pics though!
ReplyDeleteI had been wondering about your sunflower, that indomitable plant. It had a great run!
ReplyDeleteOh, no. Poor Sunny!
