I didn't give its end use as accurately as I could. They wanted to melt it then cool it into a solid square of carbon and put it under some other object they were working with in the furnace. And the probable substitution of hemp for linen n the less regulated countries. I'm curious now as to whether silk is as easy as cotton to weave. I own a silk quilt, it isn't poor quality, but neither is it the high quality fabric I've felt in high-end clothing stores. I do love the feel of silk, the cool smoothness. If I could afford it I would certainly have some silk clothing items. <br />I didn't know carbon thread could be woven; I didn't even know there was/is such a thing as carbon thread.
