A plethora of color and a bit of opinion

I am surrounded by a national park

I drive through it almost every morning.

This summer I often saw couples, families, posing with a sign.
We did that as children, too.
Dad had a location marker in his sequence of slides.

This morning I saw cars with New York, Virginia, Maryland and Pennsylvania plates
pulled up to the various locked gates.

The information shelter back there has a little sign.
WELCOME

My Federal government is a horses' ass.

Mr. Speaker Baynor:

The Affordable Healthcare Act

is the law of the land.

It was passed by the House and the Senate.

It was upheld by the Supreme Court of the land.

You fools have spent the several years since it was passed

Attempting to repeal the law.

With no success.

It is the law of the land.

Get over it.

Get over yourselves.

Get on with

The people's business.

Dear River:  feel free to help yourself to any tree.  Or flower.

There will always be bikes.

  5. I was so surprised that the government shut down they said on the news that it happened before, but I don't remember maybe I was very busy then. Do you have three levels of government, the dudes surpressing the law should be not be allowed any medical help until they pass the law let them see what it is like. We have medicare here it's not perfect but it's available to everyone and I have read about what medical expenses are in the USA and I not be able to afford to go to the doctor there.

  6. What more can be said? Toss the cards on the table, and let it ride.

  7. Oh, and your photos are marvelous. We do not see fall colors like this ever, unless we drive a few hours up the mountains.

  8. ABsolutely beautiful photos - I LOVE the way you interspersed them with your words of protest. Well said!

  9. Oh Lady... You said it all! I won't even go into the depth of my disgust and anger. I guess, I too, need to... get over it. Let's get it over and move on.

  10. You go girl!

A friend told me about a teacher who asked her students to raise their hand if they were in favor of Obamacare. Only two raised their hands. Then she asked them to raise their hands if they were for The Affordable Health Care Act and the rest raised their hands. What does that say?

It seems like the Tea Party would rather let the country fail, than let Obama win. Meanwhile, all us citizens lose.

  11. We will never know of all the people who were affected by this stupid action of a few well funded idealistic idiots. We hope to use ACA marketplaces as I suspect many other self-employed people will. Since when did big insurance companies become so loved that we would NOT want more control over them. Hey Tea Party idiots you want those pre-existing coverage rejections back? Oh how about those limits on covered care? Most of the Tea Party suffers from a pre-existing condition called stupidity. Oh and Senator Cruz, stop running the House. You were elected to the Senate but they probably didn't cover the difference in those Dr. Seuss books you read.
thanks for the opportunity to rant over here.
Now I'm going back and just looking at the pretty pictures you posted.

  12. I could not agree more. I fear this is what they want and it seems to be it is. I wonder how history is going to look back on this if they succeed.

  13. Love your colour - much less enamoured of the political tantrum. 'I don't want to play your game. I'm taking my bat and ball AND your bat and ball. Nyeah, nyeah, nyeah'.
I hope it is resolved for you. Soon.

  14. Beautiful pictures. All I got to say about it all is I'm fearful what my health insurance premiums are going to do when its time for open enrollment in January. At 55 and 60 years old, we need insurance and right now it is barely affordable working for a company; not sure anything passed would make it affordable for people like us.

  15. I hope the situation resolves soon. It's jarring to see adults acting so childishly - and undoubtedly passing on those attitudes to the young ones in their vicinity. Reminds me of the saying, "My mind's made up; don't confuse me with the facts."

I think the stupidity will implode eventually, but it's not good for the country in the meantime.

One of the great fears of Mankind (other than death) is change. Which, given that it is written into our very genetic coding (as is death), makes for the Ultimate Stupidity. Governments in general, the world over, are pretty much U/S these days. (I am assuming familiarity in this educated crowd of the shorthand for 'useless'...)

Meanwhile, back on the drive to work - wunderbar!! YAM xx

  17. Well said. I couldn't agree with you more. I'm sorry your citizens have to go through all this. Not only that, the visitors to your nation. May it be over with soon.

What a lovely park you live by too.

  20. Oh the Fall colours mixed with your passionate words - amazing !

  21. Yae, Joanne!!! I agree completely about both the fall colors and the Republicans. It absolutely makes me sick that they would do this to something that is already a law.

  23. Affordable healthcare seems like a damn fine idea. What's the problem there? Do people not want it?
    And thank you.

  24. I have a feeling that National Parks all over the nation are being used without hesitation. As the song goes,"this land is my land."
